GIS Share Stories With Online Maps  

Stories are a universal mode of communication used personally and professionally to impart ideas, share experiences and influence decision making; use GIS resources to publish your data, create maps and web applications. This course will guide you through the process of publishing data and maps online and transforming them into story map apps.

You will learn to navigate AGOL, build a customizable web map, and create a story map app to share with other online users. Join us to learn how AGOL is an effective avenue for organizations to share the story of their work through maps. Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:
  • Navigate the ArcGIS Online (AGOL) web interface
  • Share data and maps within AGOL
  • Publish data to AGOL
  • Create sharable maps with AGOL
  • Create and share interactive web applications (apps) using AGOL
Course Prerequisites: Completion of Learning Geographic Information Systems or equivalent working knowledge is required. Basic experience with Microsoft Windows software (e.g. Excel) for basic file management.
