Succession Planning & Internal Mobility: What Every Employee Needs to Know    NEW!

Succession planning and internal mobility strategies are rooted in a continuous process of building talent at all levels of an organization. Through class discussions and exercises you will develop practical skills that you can begin applying immediately, regardless of your current role. You will also create a draft succession plan.

By applying both real world and hypothetical scenarios, you will gain experience in identifying potential issues that may affect your organization. You’ll also learn how to identify and nurture high potential employees, and discover how and where to invest in training to increase employee engagement. You will also explore how mentoring, coaching, and stretch assignments can contribute to an effective succession plan. You will gain skills that you can apply immediately, regardless of your current role.

Upon completion of this course participants should have knowledge and be able to:

  • Explain the value of succession planning and internal mobility.
  • Advocate for a continuous succession planning process.
  • Understand the value of hiring from within AND bringing in fresh talent from the outside.
  • Evaluate key positions and assess risk.
  • Create a succession plan.
