Drawing Celtic Design

The interwoven pieces of knotwork create a meditative state as we journey through, under and over. Dreamwork becomes our day work as we map our journey and contemplate where we have been, where we are and where we want to go. This course will provide insight into the construction of knotwork with a foundation in sacred geometry and meditative art.

Spring class sessions will be geared around page layout and design, along with zoomorphic imagery.

Students will learn how to construct basic to complex interwoven knots by learning the concepts of construction such as open/closed spaces, mirroring the image, repeated patterns and color choice/medium. Mathematical equations are not present in this course, instead we focus on the construction/creation and play of geometric shapes. By the end of the course the student will be able to create and construct knotwork cards and page layouts.

For this class, you will need a pencil, compass, ruler, copy paper, tracing paper, carbon paper and eraser.
