Word 2016 - 2019 Level 1   

Microsoft Word is an essential tool for any individual in today’s digital age.  Proficiency in Word is a vital skill used in both business and basic day-to-day activities.  Word 2016-2019 Level 1 provides the basic concepts and skills to start being productive with Microsoft Word 2016-2019: how to create, format, and set up a document, and how to add graphics and tables.

Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Identify components of Word
  • Create, save, preview a document
  • Format font appearance and highlight text
  • Format paragraph alignment and spacing
  • Adding tabs and indents
  • Using Quick Styles, sets and themes
  • Manage lists and customizing bullets
  • Set margins, page breaks and columns
  • Proof documents and use AutoCorrect
  • Learn to control print settings
  • Add headers and footers
  • Work with templates
  • Insert and edit graphic objects, screenshots and pictures from the web
  • Add tables to a document or convert tables to text
  • Control a document's page setup

Recommended Prerequisites: To be successful in this course, you should be familiar with using a mouse and keyboard; launching and closing programs; navigating to information stored on the computer; and managing files and folders. To ensure your success, we recommend you first take an introductory Windows course.
