Project Communications Management 15 PDUs  

Successful completion fulfills 15 Professional Development Units towards SPSCC certificate completion and can be submitted to PMI subject to their audit process

This 2-day course focuses on Communications Management which is an ongoing issue for projects regardless of their size or complexity. Proper communication is critical in establishing appropriate expectations and ensuring project success. This course applies to private, public, government municipal and federal entities.

This course will focus on six primary elements of effective communication, including:
  • Applying active and effective listening
  • Preparing communications and establishing an issue management process
  • Drafting and publishing documentation
  • Conducting meetings
  • Giving effective presentations
  • Building a project war room

Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
  • Understand the essential elements of effective communication.
  • Understand the role of personality and its effect on the communication process.
  • Apply the four steps for effective and active listening.
  • Prepare a Communications Management Plan.
  • Draft and publish project documentation.
  • Conduct a successful meeting.
  • Identify the characteristics of an effective presentation.
