Teachers of Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 will learn instructional strategies to expand skills, concepts, and assessment practices that can be incorporated into their classes to help prepare their students for the Algebra 1 STAAR Test and the math class after theirs. Teachers will participate in activities that involve students in higher level thinking processes that reinforce the skills and concepts needed to be successful in upper level mathematical classes. Technology will be used to develop concepts and as a problem solving tool. We will do several hands-on activities that can be used in the classroom to teach or reinforce concepts.

What to have access to if possible:

• A copy of your current textbook
• A graphing calculator
• Notebook paper
• A copy of a test you have used this past year
• Any good lesson/activity/project you have used in the past and would be willing to share
