The death penalty has been the most extreme punishment throughout history – changed in its use over time and culture. The use of the death penalty varies not only between countries but, in the U.S, from state to state, remembering that U.S. has highest imprisonment rate of most western countries – many of which have eliminated death penalty entirely as a form of punishment in cases involving even intentional deaths of others.The purpose of this lecture is not to sway opinions one way or the other or even to have any attendee’s opinion disclosed or opened, or to reach a group conclusion, but rather to bring questions and issues to both the pro and con sways to the use and benefit of the death penalty.
