Can Curiosity Catch a Killer?

Learn what tools investigative reporters use to dig deep into decades-old unsolved homicides. We will discuss some of the cases that caught our attention, how unsatiable curiosity may be the best skill a journalist can possess, and how hindsight and evolving technology helps us re-evaluate what we thought we knew.

German Resistance Against the Nazis

The White Rose was a non-violent resistance group in Nazi Germany, composed mainly of students from the University of Munich. Founded in June 1942, the group was known for distributing leaflets that condemned the Nazi regime's crimes and called for active opposition.

Hauntings: The Past Intrudes Into the Present

Topics include familial hauntings like generational trauma, domestic violence, and drug and alcohol abuse, as well as historical/political hauntings like the continuing reverberations from the slave trade and other issues grounded in the founding of the country. And, of course, ghostly hauntings!

Thriving Across the Ages: Strategies for Promoting Psychological Health and Wellbeing

This course will provide students with an overview of the relationship between aging and psychological health. More specifically, this class is intended to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve psychological wellness throughout the later stages of life. Classes will be taught using a combination of in-person lectures, in class activities, and experiential exercises.
