Seeing a great movie with friends is a wonderful way to spend a hot summer afternoon, and that’s why Silver Frogs is pleased to present our first-ever Summer Film Series! Once a week we’ll get a group of members together for a fun afternoon at the movies…at no charge!
We’ll briefly introduce each film and following each screening is an opportunity for discussion. Please bring a snack for you or to share.
1954 was a great year for the movies, and that's why we chose to open Silver Screenings with four excellent examples. With a musical, an award-winning drama, a romantic comedy and a classic from Alfred Hitchcock, we can appreciate the variety and quality of films that year. The remainder of the season is based on ballots received from members who attended these initial screenings. These films span decades from the 50s to the 80s, highlighting varied Oscar-winning performances, genres, and looks at both American culture and the film industry itself.
