Learn to collage on 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" Artist Trading Cards! Whether you decide to trade world-wide or keep your work, the collage principles are always the same. In this class, you will learn how to create tiny works of art, how to trade them with other artists, and how to make friends world-wide. There will be a supply list for all students. We will work each session and trade with each other at the last session. There will be art challenges to help you grow as an artist as well.

Students will be introduced to basic embroidery stitches, simple ornament construction, and techniques for adding colorful hand-stitched details to felt. This class is ideal for true beginners and for those with a little experience who would enjoy a relaxing project while strengthening their stitching skills.
Each student will leave with a finished ornament and the confidence to continue exploring hand embroidery at home.

Bonsai is the ancient Japanese practice of growing trees in pots. This presentation incudes a discussion of the origins of the artform, the general aesthetics, horticulture of the trees, basic techniques and the significance of age and size of the specimens. Many examples are pictured in the presentation and the presenter incudes a limited selection of trees from his personal collection. The presentation concludes with a description of the establishment of the upcoming permanent Bonsai Collection at the Fort Worth Japanese Garden.

We will explore the how-to's that the professionals use and ways to use our own talents to create a personal signature look. Budget friendly, low tech and fun. We wall have different style and color preferences and we live in different kinds of dwellings, but the principles of professional interior design apply to all. Our first session will focus on professional designers' recipe for a well decorated space, and the second session we will focus on refreshing an existing space applying the pros method. So, bring your notebook, your questions and enjoy becoming a DIY Designer.

We will explain the basics of "duplicate" bridge, focused on beginners. The term "duplicate" means several pairs will be playing the same (i.e., duplicate) hands. Your score is based on how well you play vs. the other pairs who have played the same cards. We'll talk about bidding, playing, and scoring a hand. Geocaching is known as the world's largest treasure hunt! A perfect combination of high tech and nature. There are millions of caches hidden around the world, since its invention in 2000. Yes, even in your neighborhood! This is a fun, easy outdoor activity for individuals, groups, or families. You can determine which caches to hunt based on degree of difficulty and terrain. Creating a free account on the phone app will open up maps of hidden geocaches. After our 90 minute class, you will be prepared to join this ecologically friendly community and immediately find local caches. Caution: this can be addictive!

Anyway, how about we make our own stars from toilet paper rolls! This is a fun and easy craft. Just in time for Christmas, New Years, or all year! Each star is made from 8-16 toilet paper rolls so start saving! Paper towel rolls can also be used (1 paper towel roll = 3 t.p. rolls.) Bring scissors and be ready to fire up your glue gun!

Do you get frustrated when you watch high school or college basketball because the officials seem not to know what they are doing? What ARE they doing anyway? Do you know the rules? This session will use game film and analysis (like you see on tv from rules analysts) and other methods to entertain and educate the audience on basktball fules basics and how games are managed by officials.
In addition, we will discuss how those officials are selected, how they are identified, compensated, and what their travel looks like.
