Taking Care of Our Trees

Still have a yard? Do you have trees in your yard? If so, are you properly taking care of their health? This course will walk you through the basics of good tree care to ensure they live as long as possible, don't pose a hazard to people or property, and provide great shade.

Water for North Texas - Present and Future

On Campus Session

This lecture will present information on one of our most vital resources: water. The lecture is presented by two water industry professionals: Ron Tamada, retired environmental engineer and Mary Gugliuzza, Media Relations and Communications Coordinator for Fort Worth Water. The lecture includes a brief primer on water and water sources for humans, water availability for North Texas, treatment and distribution of drinking water, treatment of wastewater to protect the environment, a look at how water is supplied to people, and current issues affecting water supply. We will also discuss tools to help Fort Worth Water customers understand their water use and some challenges to adequate water supply for future generations.
