"Summer Shakes" Shakespeare Camp: Entering Grades 3 - HS Graduate

Theatre TCU welcomes you to Summer Shakes at TCU! Summer Shakes is a two-week, Shakespeare-focused day camp for youth and teens hosted by the Department of Theatre at TCU.
CAMP INFORMATION:
Grades 3 - 2026 high school graduate
Max: 80 students
On the first day of camp, camp staff will assign groups of 15-20 based on grade level. Campers will need to bring a non-perishable lunch each day – we will provide snacks. Fee includes a Summer Shakes 2026 t-shirt. Camp classes will take place in the mornings with performance rehearsals scheduled in the afternoon. Dress comfortably to move and stay tuned for fun, themed days where campers can break out their favorite Marvel, Disney or character gear! **Please note that there is no camp on Friday, June 19th in recognition of Juneteenth Day**
CLASSES INCLUDE:
Acting, Movement, Improvisation, Stage Combat, Shakespeare History, and more! Classes are taught by certified theatre teachers, including a “Master Class Monday” led by special guest artists and instructors. No previous acting or theatre experience is required—come as you are to learn and have fun!
On the final day of Summer Shakes, groups will present an informal Shakespeare showcase performance--including an abridged production of one of Shakespeare's works--open to caregivers and friends.

Cancellations: If you must cancel your registration, you can do so up to Friday, June 5th, for a full refund, less a $25 administrative fee. Cancellations after June 5th will not be refunded.

Students will engage in lively small group and whole group activities that will lead them through all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming to drafting and revising. In addition to working with peers, students will have an opportunity to receive feedback and guidance from writing center professionals. Please bring a laptop with you!

CSI: TCU (Junior Frogs in the Lab): Grades 8 - 11
At CSI: TCU, we hope to excite and educate 8th - 11th graders for a future in a CSI-related field. Our camp will provide you with the basic knowledge needed to unlock your curiosity about the ever-expanding fields of crime scene investigation and forensics. CSI Camp covers topics like basic criminal investigation, forensic analysis techniques, crime scene processing, and collection and packaging of evidence. Our camp activities include lifting and examining fingerprints, casting tread impressions, identifying and examining blood spatter/stains, and much more.
Throughout the camp, you will have the opportunity to hear from instructors who currently work in the field of crime scene investigation, working professionals. Our instructors will share their daily operations and provide insight into the world of forensics. You will gain a better understanding of the field and how to apply your skills in a real-world setting.
Campers should bring a non-perishable lunch and beverage to camp!

The TCU Engineering Department proudly offers a summer camp program for middle school and high school students (rising 7th through rising 11th grade). This camp provides a creative and engaging environment where students learn the fundamentals of engineering through short interactive lectures, hands-on projects, and guidance directly from TCU engineering professors.
What Students Will Do
Students will complete several exciting projects and take their creations home:
- Design and build a balsa wood bridge (structural engineering)
- Create chocolate bars with their own names (molding & additive manufacturing)
- Build an AM radio (circuits and soldering)
- Explore machine learning concepts through Arduino-based projects
