Pickleball for Beginners

*Meets at UAF Student Recreation Center (SRC). Parking is free after 5:00 pm.

*Facility fee $10; pay OLLI at registration.

*Two sections of the same course; members may only register for one.

Come learn the fast-growing sport that’s sweeping the nation! Pickleball combines elements of ping-pong, tennis and badminton into a highly social game that’s suitable for anyone from age 9 to 99. Whether you’re highly competitive or just out for some gentle exercise and a good time, pickleball has something to offer everyone. Equipment (paddles and balls) is provided, but you need clean, non-marking athletic shoes for SRC. Enrollment limited to 16.

Instructor Bill Chedister moved to Fairbanks in 2014 when he accepted a position in the Fort Wainwright Directorate of Public Works. He started playing pickleball almost two years ago and has enjoyed it ever since! He will be joined by several other members of Farthest North Pickleball Club.
