*This course meets for four consecutive meetings.
*Students will need to supply scissors, rulers and a few other simple tools as listed in an email to be sent before class starts.
The purpose of this class is to learn the skill of making books by hand using simple materials and tools. Each student will make one traditional hardback book with blank pages or even one that you wrote. The instructor will furnish paper, paste, cloth and cardboard, thread, etc. sharing the costs to be determined (don't panic - it won't cost much). Materials fee $5; pay instructor at first meeting. Enrollment limited to 10.
Instructor Arvid Weflen has been actively engaged in and teaching numerous hand craft skills for more years than he can remember, including birch bark basket weaving, chip carving, rosemaling, shoemaking, wheelwrighting, aircraft construction and who knows what else.
