My Favorite Numbers

Thursdays 2:00 - 3:15 pm (5 weeks)
Come learn about different types of numbers: natural numbers, integers, rationals, irrationals, and even imaginary numbers. Interesting tidbits of the history of numbers and mathematics will be interspersed throughout. The 5th class meeting will be a day-early celebration of the irrational number π, since Pi Day (3/14) is a UAF holiday this year.
Instructor Sarah Garland, now happily retired, spent many years teaching mathematics, in addition to a stint doing environmental research and a decade as program director of UAF-OLLI.
