Have fun learning how to do line dancing! You will learn the main elements of line dancing and a few basic steps. Dances covered will include: The Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Hillbilly Shoes, Canadian Stomp, Wobble, and if time permits, others. These are very basic dances which anyone can learn with ease.
Instructor Michele Mouton has been line dancing for over 35 years and has taught line dances in several venues. She loves to share her skills and get others dancing.

Learn to swing dance! Swing is an easy, fun dance that can be done to a variety of music.
Instructors Stan Justice and Barb Lorz are long time members of the Ballroom Dance Club of Fairbanks. They taught the country two step and waltz for OLLI in 2024.

The Charleston began in the 1920 and had its roots in several African American dances. In the 1930 - 40 a version was incorporated into Lindy Hop. It is danced to traditional big band jazz.

If you have some experience in line dancing or took a Beginning Line Dancing course, you may enjoy this course! We will cover more complex line dances like The Wolf, Give Me Shivers, Good Times, Romeo, and Give It To Me. Each course meeting will start with a warm up and review of a beginner line dance.

*Each 4-week session stands alone; you may take either one or both.
Come learn the basics of English Country Dancing! Enjoy wonderful music from the 1700s to present, and be social and physically active with others in an easy walking format. All dances will be taught step-by-step, then called as we progress through the centuries of this wonderful dance form. The most challenging thing will be remembering which is your left hand or right hand, how to walk, and then turn in a circle! Partners are not necessary.
Instructor Dennis Rogers has been dancing and playing this form of music since the 1970s.
