  • Piano Ensemble

  • Piano Ensemble is designed to give students experience with various ensemble piano literature.  Students will learn valuable technical and musical communication skills as well as gain a further understanding of the historical background of the music. Each group meets with an instructor once per week for 45 minutes. Meeting times will be coordinated at the outset of the course.

  • Piano for Intermediate to Advanced Adult Pianists

  • Piano for intermediate to advanced adult pianists, who have prior experience in piano lessons.  This course is designed to give students experience with various solo piano literature.  Students will learn valuable technical and musical skills as well as gain a further understanding of the historical background of the music.  Class will meet once a week for 45 minutes.   • Arkansas Music: A study of Arkansas musicians and musical traditions of the last four centuries, including Native Arkansan, folk music, ragtime, blues, gospel, jazz, the sheet music industry, classical music, R+B, country, Americana, and rock. Musicians such as Scott Joplin, Almeda Riddle, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, William Grant Still, Florence Price, Louis Jordan, Henry Glover, Al Bell, Pharoah Sanders, Robert Palmer, Levon Helm, and Johnny Cash will be covered.

    Supplemental text to be purchased: From Almeda to Zilphia: Arkansas Women Who Transformed American Popular Song by Stephen Koch (Et Alia Press).
