    Monteverdi's L'Orfeo (1607) is generally regarded as the work that launched the operatic genre. His use of musical resources to tell an ancient story inspired generations of future composers. Let's explore the birth of a new art form and piece that's still performed today.

    Antisemitism is the world's oldest prejudice. Join us as we examine where it came from and why it is still with us. Learn to understand Zionism and anti-Zionism and why conflating them with antisemitism complicates our ability to make unprejudiced progress in today's world.

    This class will be taught onsite at Riverside Cemetery, a 36-acre National Historic site and arboretum dedicated in 1853 and built as part of the Rural Cemetery Movement of the mid-19th century.

    Please Note: This course will take place at Riverside Cemetery, 496 Riverside Street, Waterbury, CT 06708.

    Group singing helps us feel great in mind, body, and spirit. Let's make a joyful sound with harmonies that emerge easily by singing rounds and simple parts of songs. No experience is needed, and you can record on your phone as we learn new songs!
