This course will teach you about basic perspective, the relationships of objects to each other, how to energize a drawing by use of light and dark dynamics, how to explore different drawing instruments to achieve various effects, how to best express volume, and how to work with outlines alone. Please Note: This course has required supplies.

The following supplies are required:

- 4b and 6b pencils, single-blade pencil sharpener, soft dark charcoal and vine charcoal, several soft erasers, charcoal blenders or Q-tips, and a fine-tip Sharpie pen.

- Sandpaper for cleaning erasers, soft rag, medium filbert brush (soft, pointy tip), black ink, and watercolor brushes (thick and fine).

- A large drawing pad with thick enough paper to accommodate ink wash without crumpling.

Delve into the world of acrylics creating works of art of the subject of your choice. Use a photo of an item or location that is of significance to you. This class is for everyone from beginners to more experienced artists. Class is hands-on and each student moves at their own pace. Please Note: This course has required supplies.

The following supplies are required:

- Tubes of the following acrylic paint (heavy body is best): titanium white, cadmium yellow, yellow ochre or oxide, naples yellow, cadmium red, alizarin crimson, cerulean blue, ultramarine blue, chromoxide green, hookers green (deep), burnt sienna, burnt umber and paynes gray

- Brushes (synthetic taklon preferred): 1" bright, 1/2" bright, and #4 round for details

- Palette knife with bent blade, 9 x 12 Masterson's covered palette with palette sheets and sponge

- Acrylic medium - semigloss (or mix of gloss and matte)

- Tabletop easel, stretched canvas or canvas board

- Photograph to use as a reference
