Learn about the surprising number of space related activities have taken place in the past few decades and continue today. Activity level is moderate, some walking and one bus ride are included. Participants in this track will: 1. Become aware of contributions made to U.S. space program from individuals and organizations in Delaware 2. Become familiar with Delaware’s first astronaut who was training for Moon missions but lost his life while doing so 3. Visit UD College of EOE Global Visualization Lab and attend presentation(s) by UD researchers who use NASA remote sensing and satellite data in their research.

Examine one of our local habitats, including an up-close encounter with horseshoe crabs, plus a discussion/presentation about the unique organisms that inhabit our 50th state, Hawaii. Activity level is robust, with bus rides each day along with walking outdoors.

Visit some favorite local gardens and learn more about gardening in southern Delaware. Activity level for this track is robust with two bus trips and two outdoor walks. Participants will visit the Lewes Community Gardens, visit the Delaware Botanical Gardens and learn tips from a Master Gardener.

We will present scientific and practical information about how to improve your food and lifestyle choices with lectures, food demonstrations and stress management. Activity level is mild, all activities and presentations take place at the venue. (An additional $25 is included in the fee for this track to cover the cost of the cooking demo and lunch.) Participants in this track will attend presentations about the benefits of a plant based diet, learn stress management and relaxation techniques, and attend a cooking demonstration and on-site luncheon.

Experts in the fields of academia and the foreign service share their insight into geopolitical issues and foreign policy, including, but not limited to China, as well as the Middle East. Activity level for this track is mild, all presentations and activities take place at the venue.

Participants will visit galleries in Lewes and the Rehoboth Art League in Rehoboth. They will also be treated to presentations by local artists. Activity level is moderate with two bus rides and some walking, especially in downtown Lewes. Participants in this track will visit the Peninsula Gallery and meet its owner, and have time to explore other galleries in downtown Lewes, hear from local artists about their work, and visit and tour the Rehoboth Art League.

Participants in this track will learn the basics of basket weaving and make their own basket, learn how to “upcycle” old clothes into new treasures and participate in two additional crafting projects.

Activity level is robust, with bus rides each day along with walking outdoors and a ride on the Cape Water Taxi. (An additional $25 is incorporated into the fee for this track to offset the cost of transportation.) Participants in this track will visit historically significant locations in Lewes, travel down the Lewes - Rehoboth canal and hear from knowledgeable historians and re-enactors.
