This course is open to those with graduate and baccalaureate degrees in service, including speech-language pathologists, special educators, occupational therapists, teachers, school psychologists, autism specialists, administrators, etc.
Learner outcomes are as follows:
1. Students will understand the history and current diagnostic criteria associated with autism
2. Students will understand diagnostic procedures associated with autism
3. Students will learn and apply current evidence based practices for autism
4. Students will understand multicultural issues related to autism
5. Students will understand the family impact of autism
6. Students will understand how to support people with autism through their transition years
