PTRM 356 Wilderness Rescue and Survival Skills   

Train students in backcountry navigation, survival skills, search and rescue techniques, and high/low angle rope rescue appropriate for search and rescue work. Train students in Swiftwater Rescue Technician program, and Level 1 Avalance program (Spring semester only). This course is part of the semester in Wilderness Medicine.

Course meets in various locations (see below). Course is available for undergraduate credit only. It is the student’s responsibility to verify the transferability of courses to their degree-granting institution and intended major.

Registration for this course is required through the sponsoring agency indicated below. The sponsoring agency charges a course registration fee.

Students wanting to earn academic credit from The University of Montana must pay an additional $155 credit recording fee. This is a flat fee and not a per credit fee. Information about registering for academic credit will be provided by the sponsoring agency.
