MTGEC Assessment & Screening for Geriatric Conditions   



The Montana Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (MGWEP) provides geriatric education and training for patients, families, caregivers, direct care workers, health professionals, students, faculty and residents in a variety of settings and formats to meet the health needs of the older residents across the state of Montana.

The MTGEC Assessment & Screening for Geriatric Conditions course provides information on a variety of screening programs for older patients. Attention will be paid to the importance of screening, assessment and evidence-based interventions.

Course Content:

  • Assessment of Caregiver Strain (not available for MNA CE)
  • Screening for Cognitive Impairment in Older Adults
  • Screening for Depression in Older Adults (not available for MNA CE)
  • Screening for Diabetes in Older Adults
  • Screening for Fall Risk in Older Adults
  • Screening for Lipid Disorders in Older Adults (not available for MNA CE)
  • Screening for Osteoporosis in Older Adults

Registration to the course gains participants a 6-month enrollment period, providing a convenient and flexible online format. Participants complete a pre-test, a post-test with a score of 70% or higher and a final course evaluation to earn the certificate of completion (CEU’s).
