EDU 555 Plants in Montana Native Cultures   

Students will develop personal background knowledge of Indian Education for All (IEFA) by diving deeply into the Essential Understandings of Montana Indians. They will also:

  • Learn about native plants and their historical (and current) significance to local Montana tribes
  • Design comprehensive lesson plans and instructional activities that integrate the materials and concepts covered as well as self-selected supplemental materials.
  • Work to integrate IEFA with NextGen science standards.
  • Complete a final project which integrates the materials and concepts covered.

Course meets online. Course is available for graduate credit only. Course may not be used toward a graduate degree at the University of Montana. It is the student’s responsibility to verify the transferability of courses to their degree-granting institution and intended major.

Registration for this course is required through a sponsoring agency. See registration contact information below. The sponsoring agency charges a course registration fee. Students wanting to earn academic credit from the University of Montana must pay an additional $155 credit recording fee. This is a flat fee and not a per credit fee. Information about registering for academic credit will be provided by the sponsoring agency.
