This course is an overview of psychopharmacology. There will be information about different classes of medication, their side effects, and best uses, along with case studies. This is a two-day face-to-face workshop facilitated by Blair Davison, MD and Sara Polanchek, EdD, LCSW. After completing the workshop, attendees should be able to make appropriate client referrals for medication, understand how medications can interact, and what you will expect to see from clients who are on different medications.The aim of this course is to provide mental health clinicians a synopsis of the use of psychotropic medications for treating mental disorders. The emphasis is on what mental health clinicians need to know in order to provide clients with the best treatment possible.
This course meets face-to-face from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18, 2025. This course can be taken for 1 graduate credit (credit/no grading) or 13 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Please be sure to register for the correct section below.
