Explore 19th Century Romanticism in Music: Part II   NEW!

Enrich your appreciation of European music composed in the last half of the 19th century. Focus on an opera by Giacomo Puccini and selected symphonic works by Franz List, Johannes Brahms, Pytor Ilich Tchaikovsky, Bedrich Smetana, Edvard Grieg and Antonin Dvorak. Contextualize the music by examining the intellectual trends of the era including nationalism, realism, socialism and feminism.
