The Movies: Westerns, Sci-Fi and Gangsters

Storytelling became an important component of movies within 10 years of the projector’s invention in 1894.The public clamored for more than two-to-three minute vignettes. That demand led to the rise and evolution of science fiction, western and gangster films. Those genres have staked now their claim on 21st century television channels. Your instructor values film as an art form. You’ll screen thoughtfully curated film clips that illustrate his presentations. Your interest, insights and perspectives are all that’s required to participate.
