Did you grow up in a rural community or a small town in Nebraska? Do you still have friends or relatives that live in rural Nebraska, or do you own farm ground in rural Nebraska that’s been in your family for generations? Learn what rural Nebraskans think about their lives and communities. The University of Nebraska Department of Agricultural Economics and Nebraska Extension have been conducting the Nebraska Rural Poll since 1996 with a multi-disciplinary team of faculty. The goal of the poll is to provide Nebraska legislators, government officials, community leaders, and citizens statewide with a better understanding of the views and options of rural Nebraskans. We will review current findings as well as trends discovered over the years. On-going and recent topics covered by the poll include local community services, economic and individual well-being, natural resource issues, pandemic impacts, and trust in institutions.
