Join OLLI for a tour of Moment Skis, "The Biggest Little Ski Company in the World," located right here in Reno. Moment Skis has moved to a new, larger manufacturing center on Bible Way. Over the past two decades, they have become the largest ski manufacturer in the United States. Their skis have earned several X-Games medals, a couple Freeride World Tour wins and a few Olympic podiums. OLLI members will tour the showroom and factory during operating hours. You can observe the production from start to finish and ask questions during the tour.

Join OLLI for a guided tour of the Oxbow Nature Study Area, a 22-acre conservation and public access natural space located on the Truckee River in west Reno. The study area is jointly managed by the Nevada Department of Wildlife and the City of Reno and is home to a variety of native habitats and wildlife. The tour will involve walking on paved and dirt paths in the park. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED: On April 7-8, send an email to ollirenoprereg@gmail.com with Oxbow Park in the subject line. Include your name and phone number. You may also include the name & phone of another OLLI member if you want to attend together. Join OLLI for a guided tour of the Frank A. Tracy Power Generating Station, located on the Truckee River approximately 17 miles east of Sparks. The power plant is a 12 unit 1,021-megawatt gas-fired station located in Storey County, Nevada, and owned by NV Energy. Some peaking capacity is provided by diesel powered units. Tour registrants will meet at the power plant and pass through NV Energy's security station prior to the tour.

This year's program, "Denial: How Activists, Politicians, and Educators are Trying to Rewrite the History of the Holocaust," takes place at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. Keynote speaker Jan Grabowski is a Polish-Canadian professor of history at the University of Ottawa, specializing in Jewish-Polish relations in German-occupied Poland during World War ll and the Holocaust in Poland. Co-founder of the Polish Center for Holocaust Research in Warsaw, Poland, Grabowski is best known for his book Hunt for the Jews: Betrayal and Murder in German-Occupied Poland (2013), which won the Yad Vashem International Book Prize.

We will travel by bus to Fallon to visit the Churchill County Museum, then on to Hidden Cave and Grimes Point. We will walk the dirt trail (approx. 3/4 mile) up to Hidden Cave, a pre-historic archaeological site open only for guided tours. We will also walk the nearby 1/4 mile trail through the petroglyph site at Grimes Point. Not suitable for those with limited mobility, with steep trail, and stooping and ladders in the cave. We will head back to Fallon for lunch on your own at the Slanted Porch, and then have more time to visit the museum and exhibits before the drive back to Reno.
Full Day Tour: Saturday, April 8 at 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
