Our Program is designed to be flexible and accessible. It can be completed from anywhere in Pennsylvania, with select opportunities available in neighboring states as well.
University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine
Students located in the Pittsburgh area may have the opportunity to complete their clinical training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Trainees rotate through a variety of specialty clinics within the dental school and gain experience working alongside faculty, residents, and dental professionals in an academic clinical setting.
Regional Training Centers (RTCs)
For students located outside of Pittsburgh, we also offer training through our Regional Training Centers. These sites provide a structured clinical experience, and your clinical placement is arranged for you. The current Regional Training Center locations are listed below.
- Titusville, Crawford County, PA: Titusville Area Hospital
- Bradford, McKean County, PA: Olean General Hospital/Universal Primary Care
- Johnstown, Cambria County, PA (Clinic Opening Spring 2027) : Conemaugh Health System/Hyndman Health
If you are located near one of these regions and would like more information about training through an RTC, please contact our team at daprogram@pitt.edu
Community Dental Office Training
We also partner with dental offices throughout Pennsylvania and neighboring regions. This option allows students who are not located near Pittsburgh or one of our Regional Training Centers to complete their clinical training closer to home. Students may secure a clinical site independently. This can be a dental office where you currently work, have previously worked, have a professional connection, or a local office willing to host your training experience.
If you do not already have a potential clinical site, our team can help. We maintain a network of dental offices that have hosted our trainees in the past and can provide contacts and guidance to assist you in securing a placement. No matter where you are located, our goal is to help you find a clinical training pathway that works for you.
