Certified Human Resources Professional training is a 100% online training course that will prepare you for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) certification exams.
This program is presented in workshop format as a 13-hour program over eight weeks. In addition, students will complete one of the following asynchronously:
- The HR Certification Institute - Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) - 36 hours
- The HR Certification Institute - Professional in Human Resources (PHR) - 36 hours
- The Society of Human Resources - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) - 40 hours
The course culminates with the presentation of a “Human Resource Professional Certificate” issued by UTSA in recognition of successful course completion. After completion, students will be prepared to sit for certification.
Exam Voucher Included for The HR Certification Institute.
Exam Voucher Not Included for The Society of Human Resources.
Course Information:
A welcome email will be sent to you the week of the workshop's start date. This email will contain course information and meeting links. Your instructor will be copied in this email for any questions you may have regarding the workshop.

Technology Requirements and Support:
- Microsoft Office Suite required for assignments.
- Computer with a web camera and speakers/earbuds/headphones. You can use your own personal device (laptop or desktop). Camera must be on during live sessions.
- Internet access. Wired or reliable connection recommended for online exams and assignments.
- Google Chrome is the recommended browser. In case you are having trouble opening or accessing content, clear the cache and try a different browser.
Attendance Policy:
- Attendance Policy can be found in the Welcome Email sent before the start of the program.
Withdrawal/Cancellation Policy:
- Refunds: A full refund (minus $50 processing fee) will be granted if you cancel before the start date. Once the course has started, a 50% refund (minus $50 processing fee) can be requested within five business days from the start date. Refunds will not be granted once the five business days has passed.
- Refunds are processed only in the format payment was received. Payments made by credit cards will be refunded only to the card used to pay.
