    Week 1

    Students in this foundational class will learn the stepby-step process behind how creative professionals make the cartoons, anime, games, and comics they love! They will Learn about the language of film, how to read scripts, and how to pitch like a pro! Students will create their own storyboard from scratch for their final project.

    This program is for middle school students in 6th-8th grade. The program is open enrollment and provides a serious studio learning environment with hands on projects in several mediums. Students will be able to grow their breadth and understanding of art making practices, learn about reviewing and critiquing artworks, as well as participate in an end of the year market. The program meets on Fridays, 4:30pm-6:30pm and runs Sep 16th – Dec 20th. Please contact the program coordinator, Kim Bishop with any questions at kimberly. bishop@utsa.edu.

Classes are geared to creative minded and artistically motivated middle and high school students and aims to assist students with art making foundations and introduce new techniques; high school students will also focus on portfolio development. NOTE: SP1: Grades 9–12 will meet the First Saturday of the month, and SP2: for grades 6–8 will meet on the Second Saturday of the month.
