This uniquely organized two day summer workshop on the Southwest Campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio will offer educators a multidisciplinary experience in the heart of San Antonio. Educators will be immersed in the beauty of the Riverwalk and the Cities Public Art in the morning led by Public Artist Luis Valderas and monoprinting techniques in our historic art studios in the afternoon led by UTSA professor Humberto Saenz. This workshop will merge art educational philosophies with methods and strategies that can be applied in almost any classroom with an emphasis on community building through plein aire drawing and printmaking. Educators will leave with new ways of thinking about their curriculum, innovative techniques in art making, 12 hours of CE credit and a new community of like-minded colleagues.
Be aware that this workshop will require an extensive amount of walking and climbing stairs, and lunches will NOT be provided.
