Study Abroad | Photography in Berlin

Join us for a 7-day immersive photography program in one of Europe’s most historic yet modern cities.  Berlin, a capital with a rich and complex history, offers a unique dialogue with the past and the present—a vibrant fusion of history, art, and architecture. Our program is based in Kreuzberg, a dynamic district known for its cultural diversity and creative energy. You’ll be steps away from a bustling market hall, restaurants, cafés, and local shops. Suited for photographers of any skill level using either analog (any format) or digital cameras; the program supports both digital and film, however participants working in film must self-develop negatives or arrange for local processing.  Each day includes group meetups allowing for image reviews, suggested focus and narratives, technical and compositional approaches and suggested narratives, as well as the option to schedule individual one-on-one reviews. Discover Berlin—and transform the way you see the world, one frame at a time.

In partnership with CIEE custom programs, tuition covers program arrangements, a few museum visits, instruction, and one-on-one reviews, limited public transportation pass, a welcome and farewell dinner, and housing (double occupancy. Participants will cover airfare, all other meals and non-group museum sites and travel, and incidentals.

Meet the Instructor: Kemp Davis brings over 30 years of experience as an award-winning photographer, educator, curator, and studio owner.  He holds an MS and BS in photography from East Texas A&M University.
