Save Snoqualmie Falls! Visit & Talk

At Snoqualmie Falls, the Snoqualmie River plunges 268 feet over a wall of volcanic andesite and breccia before resuming a peaceful route to the west and the north.  The falls are one of Washington’s most visited attractions, partially due to the television series Twin Peaks, which featured the beautiful cascade.

What most visitors don’t realize is that Snoqualmie Falls is rapidly eroding the volcanic rock beneath it and will disappear completely when the volcanic rocks have been eroded. I hope that you will join us on this trip to Snoqualmie Falls to learn about the roles a continental ice sheet, a glacial lake, and an explosive volcano played in the formation of the falls and to help Dale calculate how much longer we have to enjoy the falls before they are gone!

We will be visiting the upper and lower falls, there is a short one mile drive between the falls. There are some stairs on the way to the lower falls.
