Four Presidential Elections: Third-Party Candidates Who Made a Difference

The class will look at four presidential elections; 1912, 1968,1992 and 2000.  In these four elections the third-party candidates played significant roles and had an effect on the outcome.  The class will look at the historical context for these third party candidates and how the candidacies of Teddy Roosevelt (1912), George Wallace (1968), Ross Perot (1992) and Ralph Nader (2000) influenced the campaigns as well as the political and historical consequences of  these critical presidential elections.
