Part of the Beer Workshop Series

First in our series of short courses, the Mastering Hops Workshop is a crash-course look from the lens of the industry standard of beer production. You will be provided a framework around growing and working with hops in the commercial beer industry.

This three-hour long workshop will leave students with the basic knowledge of growing, assessing and utilizing hops at every stage in its commercial practice. This is a hands-on workshop, enabling students to grasp concepts and procedures in dealing with hops at the commercial beer level. A visit to the UW Tacoma “Hops Garden” at harvest-time and a sampling of hops-forward tastings is included.

Students should have some sensory beer and brewing knowledge, but all levels are welcome.
