WAC 357-34-100 and University of Washington policy requires that all state employees complete a Sexual Harassement Prevention training within six months of appointment and then every five years.
>p>Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination that violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. Sexual harassment consists of unwanted, unwelcome sexual advances or sexual conduct in the workplace that has the effect of unreasonably interfering with a person’s work performance. This type of behavior can create an intimidating or hostile work environment. We can no longer afford the expense of lost employee morale, motivation, and productivity. We must be able to recognize sexual harassment behavior and know how to prevent it.
As a Washington State employee we have a responsibility to prevent sexual harassment from occurring. And we need to know what the responsibilities of individual employees, supervisors, and managers are.In this course you will learn to recognize sexual harassment behavior.
Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
Recognize behavior that constitutes sexual harassment and behavior that doesn’t.
Discuss the high cost impact of sexual harassment.
Identify resources that are available.
Demonstrate techniques that can be used to prevent sexual harassment.
