This course will introduce students to shop practices, equipment, materials, and skills related to the Shielded Metal Arc Welding process, commonly referred to as Stick Welding. The Stick Welding process is one of the most widely used processes in the construction, maintenance and repair industries. This process can develop skills that can be easily applied to other welding processes.
This course will place an emphasis on understanding process variables and developing basic skills. All hands on exercises are self paced .
Individuals may be able to develop basic entry level skills or use this course to improve existing skills. Welders who are experienced in other processes, but wish to become proficient in Stick Welding, will also benefit from this course by building upon their existing skills and knowledge in a self paced environment.
