HAMtastic Radio Technology Camps   

HAMtastic Radio Technology Camps will explore the science behind mobile (cell) phones, broadcast radio and television, safety and emergency services, radar, navigation, and remote sensing satellites, each of which utilizes radio waves. In HAMtastic we will have the opportunity to talk on short-wave radios with other radio operators from all over the world.

Campers will have the opportunity to sit for the HAM Radio Technician class license exam.

HAMtastic Radio Technology camps are offered on Walters State Community College Morristown, Claiborne, Newport Center, Sevierville and Niswonger Campuses.

    Campers will be introduced to Amateur Radio through lectures, hands-on activities, and demonstrations. The camp will empower students with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to understand, operate, and appreciate the wonders of radio technology.

    In HAMtastic, campers will have the opportunity to talk on short-wave radios with other radio operators from all over the world.

    HAMtastic participants will have the basic knowledge to continue their studies to sit for the HAM Radio Technician class license exam.
