Housekeeper Apprenticeship   

Performs all facets of housekeeping in any designated area such as commercial, industrial or miscellaneous - classroom, food services, libraries, gymnasiums. Carefully analyzes all janitorial tasks to ensure that proper techniques and equipment are utilized. Uses both mechanical and non-mechanical equipment including but not limited to buffers, vacuum cleaners, wet/dry vacuums, carpet cleaning equipment, mops, buckets, wringers and a variety of hand tools. Properly clean and store all equipment upon completing the tasks. Conforms to all fire, health and safety standards of the work site and governmental agencies, as applicable. Report any violations to supervisor. Uses all chemicals and equipment to perform all tasks in an efficient and effective manner. Includes cost effectiveness and avoidance of unnecessary accidents. Monitors chemicals used. Thoroughly understands chemical content of products is required to ensure proper usage, dilution and precautions. Completes all minor equipment repair.
