Medical Assistant
Description: Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician. On-The-Job Training: Interns will receive training in the various work experiences listed below. The order in which this training is given will be determined by the flow of work on the job and will not necessarily be in the order listed. The times allotted to these various processes are the estimated times which the average intern will require to learn each phase of the trade. They are intended only as a guide to indicate the quality of the training being provided and the ability of the intern to absorb this training in an average amount of time. The total term is indicated below. Optional Employer Pre-requisites/Requirements. These requirements may vary by participating employer: • Not less than 18 years of age • High school Diploma or GED Equivalent • Legally eligible to work in the United States • Complete and Clear Criminal Background Check • Complete & Clear Drug screen- including nicotine • Proof of Required Immunizations • Proof of current CPR/First Aid Certification • Ability to meet occupational requirements • Any other additional employer requirements
