    Kids College 2.0 the DIVE-IN EXPERIENCE

    Kids College 2.0 Dive-In EXPERIENCE is a summer program offered by the Division of Workforce Training at Walters State Community College. Our goal is to educate, entertain and broaden your child’s horizons with unique learning opportunities that mimics a college campus. Kids College participants will Dive-In the following experiences:

    Fields of zoology, veterinary medicine, and biology through hands-on labs and dissection workshops, learning about the variety of careers available in the world of animal care. Students will participate in interactive workshops that allow them to explore animal sciences such as dissection, animal exams and much more.

    Medicine & Health Care program that uses an interactive approach to learning that gives you an opportunity to explore the world of medicine. Hands-on activities: taking patient history, vital signs, suturing, blood-typing and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and First-Aid.

    Robotics, and coding - students will spend time building, experimenting, and learning the impact science has on society. Hands‐on activities are designed to help future engineers explore the educational paths open to them with an interactive approach to learning that gives you an opportunity to explore the world of engineering.

    The methodology of science and art. Science and art both require inquiry and questioning while emphasizing the importance of exploring, discovering, critical thinking and inventing. In this dive-in, students will explore the scientific and mathematical principles behind creating functional objects with clay. Students will learn the chemistry of clay and glazes, the physics of firing temperatures and clay properties and the geometry/measurements involved in creating symmetrical and precise forms.
