H.E.L.P. - Exploring Health and Medicine is a hands-on residential program for any high school students ages 14-17 with an interest in pursuing a healthcare related major or a career as a doctor, nurse, physician assistant, physical therapist, phlebotomist, EMT/Paramedic, or other healthcare related profession. Students will live in a residence hall on campus for a week, attend classes taught by University professors during the day , eat meals in the dining commons, and be able to participate in fun evening activities typical on a college campus such as movie nights, game nights, and more.
Cost:
The total cost of the H.E.L.P. program is $200. Support for this program is subsidized in part through funding provided by the U.S. Department of Education.
Important Dates:
Deadline for Registration Form and $200 deposit: April 30
Deadline for Medical Form* and Liability Form: June 6
*A copy of the student's physical examination form conducted within year of the program start date and signed by a physician must be submitted via email or regular mail. See Medical Form for more information.
Program Dates: July 13 - 19
Move In: Sunday, July 13, 3:30 - 4:30pm
Move Out: Saturday, July 19, 10:30-11:30am
Typical Day Schedule:
8:30am: Breakfast
9:30am - 12pm: Classes with breaks
12pm: Lunch
1:00 - 4:30pm: Classes with breaks
5:30pm: Dinner
6:30pm: Evening social activities
Hands-on activities will be a significant part of the student's learning experience. These will include but are not limited to activities such as diagnostic ultrasound lab, suture lab, splinting lab, taping session, CPR certification, EMT simulation, geriatrics training session, nursing simulations, field trip to Baystate Hospital, and more!

Registration and Payment:
To reserve a seat in the program, we must receive the following by the deadline of April 30. Please note that your seat in the program is not reserved until both are received. This program may fill up before the deadline so it is highly recommended that you complete both the registration form and payment at the same time to avoid missing out.

All remaining camp forms (including student physical examination form) must be received by the deadline of June 6, 2025.
The program may fill quickly so early registration is encouraged. There will be a waitlist in the event that we reach maximum enrollment.
