Cross-Connection Specialists (CCS) are required to evaluate customers' water uses to assess the degree of hazard the customer's service connection poses to the Public Water System should backflow occur. This workshop provides tools for the CCS to use in conducting water use surveys.
Students will gain an understanding of how to gather information regarding a facility's water uses, perform plan checks of plumbing and mechanical systems, and conduct on-site surveys of customer's facilities to determine what, if any, backflow protection will be required. Students will also learn what information should be obtained, stored and tracked about each water service connection in the cross connection control records system.
