Basic Hydraulics for Distribution Systems   

This course will cover basic hydraulic concepts as it relates to a drinking water distribution system. A few of the major topics to be covered are: Pascal's Law, head-elevation, pressure & velocity, static head, dynamic head, head loss, hydraulic grade line and gradient, Hazen-Williams formula, pressure zones, automatic control valves and pumps, water horsepower and pump efficiency, regulatory aspects. Operators will gain a better understanding of how their job impacts public health.
