Water Operators will learn techniques and methods that will ensure adequate quantity, pressure and quality of drinking water that will protect public health. This course presents approved training for Asbestos Cement Pipe Work Practice Procedures in compliance with the most recent Department of Labor and Industries regulations. Participants will learn safe, field-proven procedures to protect them from cancer-causing asbestos fibers and how to avoid costly penalties. Discover how to recognize asbestos health hazards, prevent exposure to deadly asbestos fibers and how to choose and use protective equipment. Participants will also perform approved AC pipe work practices.

This class is designed for BATs who want to get their Specialty Plumbers License through Washington Department of Labor and Industries. Course will focus on how to effectively prepare for the exam.

Pumps are the heart of water and wastewater systems. This practical, one-day workshop takes the mystery out of hard-to-understand pump theory. Attendees will learn how pumps work, how pumps are used, the essential parts of all pumping systems, and to understand pump terminology. Students will analyze the purpose and functions of key components; learn how to recognize, troubleshoot and correct faulty conditions; and review procedures for replacing important pump components. Practice reading pump curves and review and apply principles of hydraulics and hydrostatics to understand what makes up a pump's total discharge head requirement.

This three-day workshop is designed to prepare students for the current Association of Board of Certification (ABC) test given by the Washington Department of Ecology. The course presents a math refresher, reviews techniques for problem solving and offers sound advice on how to effectively prepare for the Level III and IV Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification examinations. The workshop is designed to prepare examinees by giving class participants the opportunity to practice using proven exam test taking skills with questions covering treatment operations, collection, laboratory testing and sampling, solids handling and other subjects on which the certification exams are based. Participants will gain valuable knowledge that they can put to immediate use to prepare for the certification exam.
