Pre-College Strings Program
The WKU Department of Music is pleased to offer high quality instruction for violin, viola, and cello through the Pre-College Strings Program. In an environment that is both nurturing and demanding, youth age 6-18 have the opportunity to study a string instrument from the beginning levels through the advanced repertoire. Solo recitals, group concerts, public performances, and master classes by world-renowned artists, provide students with outstanding developmental opportunities.
Program Structure
- Lessons and classes are conducted at the WKU Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center
- 14 Private Lessons (individual lessons with assigned faculty)
- Group Classes (classes with other children of comparable age and skill level)

Payment Plan Available: Pay 1/2 at time of registration and 1/2 by March 17. $40 additional charge to cover handling.

- By registering my child for this program, I understand that photographs and videos may be taken to document activities. I give my permission for photographs and/or videos to be taken of my child during the semester to be used for educational and/or promotional materials for the Department of Music.
Each year The WKU Pre-College Strings Program provides a limited amount of financial assistance to students applying for the program. This assistance is awarded on the basis of need. If you have any questions regarding financial aid assistance, please email strings@wku.edu.
