What is the best way to stay physically fit? Experts say, ""the best exercise is the one you keep doing."" If you’re having trouble sticking with your fitness plan, you may not be the problem. Maybe the fitness activity you’ve chosen doesn’t match your fitness personality.

In this class, we’ll consult Suzanne Brue’s book, The 8 Colors of Fitness, to consider “fitness personality types.” Then, using her assessment tool, we'll find the “color"" of our fitness, and use this new information to find ways to match our fitness activities with our fitness personalities.
The goal of this class: Each participant will emerge with fitness activities they’ll enjoy and keep on doing!

    Days: Th

Recent findings in neuroscience overturned what science held about the brain for over 400 years. The power of the mind to affect changes in our physical health and emotional wellbeing has been established in research, and evident for many decades in placebo studies. This class is about getting to know our subconscious mind, its distinct jobs and unique features in relation to the conscious mind, and the essential ways it collaboratively works to support our highest health and wellbeing potential, as a devoted guide and teacher -- and potentially, a loyal genie!
The class is also about the conscious mind, its essential lifelong journey of learning, its discovery of built-in resources and neural circuitry that need to be cultivated for resiliency, empathy, focused awareness, and more, and its assigned life task of building rapport with the subconscious as a prerequisite to take the reins of its built-in command centers and equipment. The effects that troubling emotions of fear and anger can have, left unregulated, on these internal processes, our growth, the health and physiological states of the body are discussed. The recent findings in neuroscience that led to its prominence will be presented in attempt to demystify some of the complexities of the research on the brain.
The applied work of several neuroscientists will also be discussed, along with proven principles, brain-based strategies and conscious practices that, when consistently applied, are found to boost the body's capacity to heal itself. Find out why the exquisite design of our universal nature makes human beings sophisticated communication systems like no other known; and AI, a mechanical wannabe. The aim is to inspire one another to remain consciously engaged in our own health, healing and happiness processes.
