EarthCaches in Tiger Canyon NEW!

An EarthCache is much like a Geocache: using a phone app, you can track down the coordinates of a site to find a hidden treasure. But unlike traditional Geocaches, the treasure at an EarthCache site is not a container full of objects - it's a unique geological landmark, plus a community-developed lesson approved by the Geological Society of America. In the first session of class, students will learn about local geology and be taught how the EarthCache system works. Then, the following week, we'll take a day-long field trip up Tiger Canyon, visiting five EarthCache sites. The last stop will be a hike (less than two miles roundtrip) through native plants to a hilltop with a panoramic view of the Palouse Hills and the Walla Walla Valley!
